Oak - Fine Silviculture in 100 Years
Future Trees Trust is proud to announce the publication of the definitive guide to growing oak trees for quality timber, translated by Bede Howell from the French "Le chêne autrement".
Much-admired by oak growers across the world, Jean Lamaire's book is the outcome of 30 years research and explains how oak can be grown on a much shorter rotation than previously thought.
This important book is now available for the first time in English for only £30 (plus £3 postage).
Its lavishly illustrated 176 full colour pages include exhaustive notes and silvicultural advice drawn from Jean Lamaire’s many years experience of growing superb quality oaks.
Translator Bede Howell, former President of the Royal Forestry Society, is a Chartered Forester who has worked in French oak woods and sawmills and whose knowledge of oak and its silviculture in Britain is extensive.
All proceeds from sales of the book will be divided between the registered charities Future Trees Trust and Woodland Heritage.
