Full Time Research Technician Needed
Full Time, 3 year fixed term with possibility of extension
Future Trees Trust are seeking a highly motivated individual to assist with its cutting edge and expanding research programme for improving broadleaved trees. Based in South Oxfordshire, this person will be a recent graduate with a degree in forestry, a related land science subject or genetics, and have a keen interest in forestry research in general, and forest genetics in particular. This full-time position is fully funded for three years, with the possibility of longer-term employment, funding permitting.
Future Trees Trust is a charity dedicated to hardwood tree improvement and the management of forest genetic resources. While we do not directly own any land or research trials, we have many active partnerships with landowners and research organisations. This job entails the management of many diverse research sites and much travel, sometimes staying away overnight for several consecutive days, is a key component of this job.
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, independent, reliable and trustworthy with a willingness to work unsocial hours and in all weathers during the field season. A full clean driving licence and own vehicle is essential. For more details, please see the job description (in the link below)
