Forest Genetics Resources Strategy now published

The UK Forest Genetic Resources Strategy is now published and can be accessed from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew’s website. Future Trees Trust’s Head of Research, Jo Clark, is a collaborator on this project and has worked alongside the Project Leader, Clare Trivedi, and other collaborating partners:

  • Stephen Cavers, Centre for Ecology and Hydrology

  • Joan Cottrell, Forest Research

  • Nick Atkinson, Woodland Trust

The aim of the UK Forest Genetic Resources Strategy is:

Developing collaboration to promote awareness and understanding of UK Forest Genetic Resources (FGR) by highlighting the need to extend knowledge of the pattern and drivers of genetic diversity and local adaptation in UK trees; make this understanding easily and widely available; and use this knowledge to underpin the conservation and sustainable use of trees and woodlands in the UK.
